Face Fit Testing
Ensure your employees are protected, wearing correctly fitted masks.
It is vital to ensure that all RPE equipment is worn correctly and complies with the legally required level of protection.
We offer Qualitative Face Fit Testing, to ensure employees are wearing correctly fitted masks.
What is Face Fit Testing?
Fit testing is a method for checking that a specific model and size of tight-fitting face piece matches the wearer’s facial features and seals adequately to the wearer’s face. It will also help to identify unsuitable face pieces which should not be used.

Is fit testing a legal requirement?
Where tight-fitting respiratory protective equipment (RPE) is used as a control measure, it is a legal requirement that it must be fit tested by a competent person.
The Approved Codes of Practice (ACOPs), which support various regulations, stipulate that tight-fitting RPE should be fit tested as part of the selection process. This ensures that the selected RPE has the potential to provide adequate protection for individual wearers.
You must be able to prove the RPE is:
✓ Adequate for the hazard and reduces exposure to the level required to protect the wearer’s health.
✓ Suitable for the wearer, task and environment, such that the wearer can work freely and without additional risks due to the RPE.
