Expanding its product portfolio with the Rotacrex R750, R1200 and R1600, German shredding, granulator and disposal equipment manufacturing specialist Bomatic GmbH in partnership with its newly appointed UK and Ireland distributor Fercell Engineering Limited of Aylesford, Kent, launches this innovative shredding technology to the UK market.

Featuring eight durable steel impact blades, it is claimed, ‘any material is shattered within seconds’. This truly innovative trademark technology is a radical departure from the current shredder design of horizontal single, two or four shaft technology.

With dimensions of up to 1.6 metres in diameter with an output up to 20 tonnes per hour (material dependent), the Rotacrex shredder series, is characterised by its robustness and its unique trademark vertical processing format. Further, the impact blades which are ‘specially toughened’ and are said to sustain little wear, hold an innovative key feature. Another feature is the anti-shock mounting of the blades capable of absorbing shock when coming into contact with larger objects. The shredder crushes industrial materials like electronic scrap/WEEE, wire, scrap metal and toner cartridges as well as the more unusual inputs such as abattoir waste (including bones), automotive plastics and catalytic convertors along with other currently difficult to manage waste streams using existing technology. These machines have found popularity in Europe as a prime mover in processing waste destined for AD facilities.

Output size is regulated by the corresponding size of the outlet opening for most dry processing. For wet processing a final screen interrupts the out-flow line with final output leaving the machine via a slide installed on the side.
